In order to provide effective support and supervision for their exams officer, and to ensure that all exams-related tasks are completed to time, a senior leader/line manager must be aware of the tasks which must be completed every month and each term
The Exams Office has produced the following support materials which will help senior leaders manage examinations/assessments within their centre, and support contingency in the event of the absence of their exams officer during key points of the exam cycle.
Monthly checklists
The monthly checklists (support guides) are intended to take an exams officer through the main aspects of the role highlighting generic key tasks and suggested good practice, confirming JCQ key dates and providing additional hints and tips to support an exams officer in dealing with upcoming priorities and meeting key deadlines (each guide is published by the beginning of the month it relates to).

Termly checklists
The termly checklists cover the academic year (September-August) and are intended to support exams officers in meeting key dates and deadlines and ensuring key tasks are completed during the autumn, spring and summer terms.
The NAEO recommends that a senior leader/line manager asks their exams officer to retain these checklists within the centre's Exams Manual to support contingency and succession planning.
